Kintsugi Moon

The moon is broken, and the rabbit who once lived there is gone. Guided by moonlight, drawn to shrines, a small rabbit begins piecing together a forgotten past — in the rice fields, and on the mountain beyond.

How It Plays

The Rules of the Mountain

No combat. No tutorials. A world that teaches itself.

01

Moonlight

Every ability is locked behind it. Outside the light, the rabbit is just a rabbit.

02

Shrines

Offer mochi, and the gods answer. Each shrine unlocks a new way to move through the world.

03

Kintsugi

Broken shards, gathered and repaired in gold. Each piece restores a fragment of memory.

04

Two Endings

Decided by what you understand, not what you finish. Neither is a failure state.

The World

The Journey

Mount Fuji rises from warm lowland fields to a silent crater above the clouds. The rabbit’s memory returns the higher they go.

The Rice Fields

Terraced rice fields, Fuji rising in the distance. The rabbit’s first steps. Playable now.

The Farming Village

Make your way through a lantern-lit village at dusk.

Riverside & Waterfall

A mountain river with falls. Wilder terrain. The forest begins ahead.

Bamboo Grove & Cedar Forest

Dense bamboo giving way to ancient sugi cedar. Moonlight filters through the canopy in patches. The forest grows darker and older the further in the rabbit goes.

The Oni Cave

The cave cuts through the mountain. No moonlight, no abilities. The single stealth section of the game — the rabbit moves carefully, or not at all.

The Ascent

The far side of the mountain. Bare volcanic rock, ruined climbing stations, ancient pilgrim stairs cut into the ridge toward the crater rim.

The full ascent is still being built. The fields are only the beginning.

Who You’ll Meet

Characters

The Rabbit

Player Character

White, lost, and gentle. They do not know it yet, but the whole mountain has been waiting for their return.

The Fox

Kitsune, Kintsugi Artist

Ancient, white, and still. She repairs what the rabbit brings her — and says nothing of what she already knows.

The Monkey

Traveling Storyteller

He performs old folk tales at campfires across the mountain — never realizing whose story he’s been telling all along.

The Old Man

The One at the Summit

He sits by a fire at the crater’s edge, unsurprised. He has been expecting the rabbit for a very long time.

Support the Journey

Be There From the Rice Fields

A Kickstarter campaign is in the works. Wishlisting is the single biggest thing that helps right now — it costs nothing and it’s the first thing backers and press look for.
